Black Cat Art

Here is a watercolor of Marina, our magnificent black cat, hoping for spring.
You can see the full-size painting, an in-progress photo and my messy palette.
Art with Siamese Cats

This morning, while searching fruitlessly for something in my storage area, I came across some studies I did years ago. Even though my style has changed, I kind of liked how these white cats came out...they were supposed to be Siamese, but mid-way, I decided to change the pigments I was using (as well as enlarging the painting a bit) and put them aside. The second photo shows how the cats looked in the final painting, which was included in a show in the regional art museum several years back. A reviewer especially mentioned the painting in her article because her six-year-old daughter fell in love with the cats. That meant so much to me!
