Tickles is the younger of our two black cats. She is very skittish and doesn't like to pose. A heron outside the window was distracting her the moment I took the reference photo for this painting...

Our local shelter rescued Tickles and her littermates from a dumpster. On her first day with us, she kept burrowing under a blanket so she could curl up with our toddler. He kept laughing, "It tickles, it tickles!" The name stuck!
