As a stumpy Manx, Widget didn't have quite enough tail to help her navigate the higher planes of our home. If we caught her looking longingly upwards, we would lift her to wherever she wanted to go. We would joke that we were helping her fly.

One day, while visiting a particularly lovely lake, my husband and I imagined how Widget would like to soar over the water. On our return home, Widget posed while sleeping on the sunny floor of our apartment.
