"What is that out amongst the pumpkins?" wonders this shaggy orange tabby cat. The autumn wind rustling through the leaves? A murder of crows picking at the grass? Squirrels gathering acorns for the long winter? A ghost trailing through the cornstalks?

If one of my cats looks out the window with such great intent, it can only mean food: A bag of kibble crinkling as I lift it from the back of my car, the tins of kitty food i clinking together at the bottom of the grocery bag...
