M is for Magic Cats: the Wizard

I painted this illustration several years ago--at the height of the Harry Potter craze--when my son asked me about magic cats. Even though Mrs. Norris, Filchs's companion, wasn't a particularly sympathetic character, she still was a cat... and thus my son loved her. I wanted to show a calmer magical situation, without any cat-paralyzing basilisks, that younger children might enjoy.

I wasn't really happy with the way it turned out, but recently I went in and fixed some parts of the painting that were bothering me.
