Gifts for Cat Lovers in watercolor on cold press paper
My grandmother, who managed her own garden and orchard, sometimes "borrowed" cats from her farmer neighbors. Using cream and fish and affection as bait, she acquired several cats in this manner. My father told me that the neighbors knew exactly where their cats were disappearing, but my grandmother was too sweet and cheerful for anyone to mind.
Gladys was the last cat my grandmother owned. My grandfather had passed away, blight had forced the orchard to be cut down, and the garden ran wild, but my grandmother still had a constant companion in Gladys. Gladys was loyal and protective of my grandmother, even though she hid when the grandchildren became too noisy.
